ChatGPT
The ChatGPT app connects to CrowdTime as a custom connector on eligible plans. You will need to enable the Developer mode first.
Before you start
- Issue a CrowdTime bearer token from the home page (Issue an MCP Token). You'll paste it into the CrowdTime pop-up during setup, not into ChatGPT itself.
- A ChatGPT plan that includes custom connectors.
- Developer mode / connector access enabled on your ChatGPT account.
- How to enable Developer mode? (Settings → Apps → Advanced → Developer Mode).
Add the connector
- In the ChatGPT app or web, open Settings → Apps.
- Choose Create App (next to advanced setting).
- Fill in:
- Name:
CrowdTime - MCP Server URL: copy this from the CrowdTime home page.
- Authentication: leave as the default OAuth option — ChatGPT sets this up automatically.
- Name:
- Save / connect.
ChatGPT will open a CrowdTime pop-up asking you to authorize the connector.
Authorize
The pop-up asks you to paste your CrowdTime bearer token (sk_…). This links the connector to your wallet:
- Paste the bearer.
- Confirm.
Use it
In a new chat, ensure the CrowdTime connector is enabled (toggle near the composer), then ask:
List the CrowdTime MCP tools, then run
crowdtrendz_crypto_news_researchorcrowdtrendz_stock_news_research. You will see the tools listed alongside a comprehensive summary.
If you're asked to re-paste your bearer
After a CrowdTime deploy or restart, ChatGPT may pop the consent screen open again. Just paste the same bearer (or a new one).
Removing the connector
Settings → Apps → CrowdTime → Disconnect (or Delete). To fully sever the link, also revoke the underlying bearer from the CrowdTime home page.
